Warriors Of Gaia

Mage rebellion

The party travelled to a city via flying pirate ship, en route killing a dragon with ghostly cannon balls and the aid of newly (self) appointed pirate lord of the skies Henrietta. (note remember to fight back when controlling a dragon) upon slaying the dragon, gaining some shiny/gooey loot in the process the party soon docked in the city and discovered some strange goings on. Children and animals were going missing, magical doodads were everywhere and there was a general sense of unease. they were hired by Lord Raven of the inquisition to seek out the source of these problems and put a stop to them, during their investigation they were granted tempory immunity from scrutiny they were above the law for the duration, many things were stolen, ahem, aquired for the greater good during this process. long story short the mages of gaia were plotting open rebellion to try and free themselves from the persicution of the church and governments and were going to summon an Aeon to hold the whole city hostage. upon finding this out the party agrees to help. helped lord raven realise mages arent all bad and disuaded the approaching inquisition army from purging the city. as a result mages were granted partial freedom to practice magic provided multiple schools were set up for the purpose of training. magic whilst still frowned upon and feared in most of gaia was no longer illegal and training was available. magic has since become much more prominent in most of western gaia. in the east it is still punishable by death.

Mc Dougal adventure

The mercenaries hear of a potential job relating to two waring clans. the Mac and the Mc Dougals. who are fighting over some items worn by Wallace Mac/Mc Dougal when he faught against the empire. The mercs are hired by one side and sweet talk their way into the opposing camp. where they poison them all with shrooms whilst Kai uses her ‘assets’ as very effective distractions. The group escape from the army camp in the chaos with the set of items and return to the hiring party who present their rewards and an offer of more gold if they help in the coming battle. needless to say the mercs accept the offer joyously and head off to battle in the morn.

The clan cheiftan for the opposing side Mc Dougal is met by the mercs in the field of battle and is promptly slain in less than 3 seconds without so much as a swing of his claymore in their direction (note to self make stronger baddies). The clan still partially halucinating and generally feeling like shit are dismayed at the loss of their leader and break quickly. pol is caught trying to steal the whole set of Wallice artifacts and fails to hide, leading to the party running like buggery in the opposite direction.

Pol's Adventure: New Companions

Had to join a mercenary group recently (blew too much money on my latest disguise). Both the other members are fighters and therefore far too un-subtle for my liking but at least they’ll make good distractions.

Ended up in small Alberian village, nothing really worth my time. Waited for the ranger in the inn where Kai proved that money is not needed to get drinks. Had to meet the ranger early the next morning which wasn’t a problem as I’m usually up and about working before it gets light. I didn’t think the others needed to know they were late.

The forest was boring as there were very few people. Had to find some way to alleviate boredom. Yay for illusionary bridge! The looks on their faces as they fell still make me laugh. Wolves attacked during the night so I hid and let the others enjoy their killing, managed to get the wolves to leave with an illusionary smell.

Karma sucks! At the next river the fighters decided to climb across a rope. It was my turn to fall in a river and I can’t swim. At least Thor has some morals so he didn’t let me drown. There was another fight in a valley, so I hid in a bush and made the bandits scream like little girls as they thought they were covered in spiders, hehe.

The city of Belfort was much more fun. I got to use my favourite disguise (the Duchess of Erat) to get into the rich quarter and got the opportunity to eat great food and sleep in a cosy bed as a guest. Also turned Thor’s hammer invisible, the hilarity was definitely worth nearly getting punched for. Am happy as I now have some new items for my disguise kit and I didn’t even have to spend any of the money I earned.

Thor’s new ‘friend’ talked him into rescuing some slaves or something. I sold Thor and Kai to gain entrance to the house. Thought about leaving them there but decided against it as I may need saving from a river again. Regretting it a little now as it nearly got me killed. On the plus side we’ve acquired a new group member, Mira, who seems to be some sort of ninja or something. She’s occasionally a bit too violent for my liking but I think we will get on fine. Turns out the house is over run by the living dead so I left most of the fighting to the others and took a look around some of the fancier rooms. Glad to be done with that and get paid, also made some useful contacts.

Hopefully our next job we let me use more disguises.

Up to now

Previously in Warriors of Gia. The party started by travelling through a small village in albaria on the way to Belfort looking for work, they met Skadi the ranger and travelled with her through the forest for several days easily defeating an ambush by wolves and bandits. Two party members went for a swim whilst attempting to cross a river as the resident illusionist created a pretend bridge, karma is a cruel mistress however as she failed to cross successfully herself and nearly drowned if not for the help of her soggy friends.

They arrived in the City of Belfort and began a search for work which resulted in the party lodging as noble guests in a rich families home, before leaving in a hurry with the help of Tabatha the young lady of the house. Set on a quest of locating missing servants they infiltrated the house of a rich merchant and quickly discovered something more sinister than the slave trade was in effect. Battling guards and undead they fought their way to the master bedroom and confronted Lord Theodoor Rydel before executing him and his necromancer companion. Freeing the remaining slaves/ necromantic experiments they were heralded as heroes by the local servant populace.
